Wisdom is worth being celebrated— Guest Minister says at Sanders Day for the elderly
Reverend Olumide Kehinde has stated that wisdom is worth being celebrated as it is a mandate from God to honour the elderly.
This he made known while preaching at the Sanders Memorial Baptist, Church Iree while admonishing the church during the celebration and appreciation of elderly members and Award of honour for former pastors.
Rev. Kehinde expressed that according to the scriptures wisdom is with the aged and it is a mandate from God to honour the elderly.
The guest minister who cited the scripture from 1 Timothy 5 verse 17: let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
Rev. Kehinde lampooned the attitude of some Yorubas as the elderly is being celebrated lavishly by some when they are dead and largely neglected when they are alive.

The man of God condenms this attitude and advised the Yoruba to form the habit of celebrating the aged while they are alive and form the attitude of lavishishly celebrating them when alive and dead.
“we do things for the dead and the dead doesn’t see it, Yoruba celebrate the dead more than the living and this culture and habit is not good enough”.

Meanwhile, Rev Adekunle Adeyemi, the pastor in charge of the host church encouraged the church on the need to pay attention to the good deeds of all the elderly being celebrated and learn to emulate their sacrifices and exemplary qualities.
The elders in their numbers were given meritorious award in recognition of their effort towards the growth and development of Sanders Memorial Baptist Church.
