WIP Calls for Support to Train 5 Million Nigerian Youths in Peace Advocacy
In a strategic move to ensure the success of this national campaign, WIP Nigeria is calling on prominent leaders, including Mr Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigeria’s president and co-founder of the Noella Foundation, to lend their support. The organisation believes that with Mr Tinubu’s influence and the backing of the Noella Foundation, the initiative can gain the momentum needed to achieve its goal of fostering lasting peace in Nigeria.
The World Institute for Peace (WIP Nigeria) has launched an ambitious new initiative, “Peace Revolution”, aimed at training five million young Nigerians to become peace advocates. The program, which spans across all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), seeks to empower the nation’s youth to actively engage in promoting peace, unity, and social responsibility in their communities.

“We are not waiting for peace; we are creating it,” said Ambassador Lamina Kamiludeen Omotoyosi, Executive Director of WIP Nigeria. “This campaign is about people power, not politics. We want to build a generation that chooses dialogue over violence, unity over division, and hope over fear. The support of leaders like Mr Tinubu will be crucial in realising the success of this transformative movement.”
The Peace Revolution initiative aligns with the Nigerian government’s ongoing efforts to tackle insecurity and promote sustainable peace across the country. It focuses on peace education, leadership development, and grassroots engagement, with the aim of cultivating a nationwide network of youth leaders who will play a key role in transforming conflict-prone areas into peaceful, collaborative communities.
Rather than seeking financial donations, WIP Nigeria is requesting material support to ensure the program’s successful implementation. The organisation has outlined the need for educational materials, documentation equipment, and vehicles for community outreach. The goal is to equip young Nigerians with the necessary tools to lead peacebuilding efforts and spread the message of coexistence and civic participation across the nation.
Ambassador Omotoyosi emphasised that the Peace Revolution is about more than just training youths—it is about empowering them to be catalysts for change in their own communities. “The future of Nigeria lies in the hands of its youth, and we must give them the resources and knowledge to build a safer, more peaceful country,” he said.
With the support of individuals, organisations, and community leaders, WIP Nigeria hopes to inspire a new generation of peace advocates who will play an integral role in shaping Nigeria’s future. The organisation has called on both local and international partners to join the initiative by providing the materials needed to mobilise and train the nation’s youth in this crucial mission.
