Users sent in their queries and agitations through the use of hashtag #Instagramdown and trended it on twitter.
Moreover, in a bid to fact-check, our correspondent reached out to some instagram advertisers who claimed around 9 pm the app became unaccessible.

It worthy to note that this will be the second time any of the three social media platforms, if not all, owned by Mark Zuckerberg glitches or became unaccessible.
However, the app, through its verified twitter profile for communication @InstagramComms confirmed that the app was really down, yesterday.
It tweeted: “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing Instagram. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible. Sorry for any inconvenience, and hang tight! #instagramdown”.
Also, 12 hours later the app tweeted: “And we’re back! We resolved the issue that caused today’s outage, and apologize for any inconvenience. “
