VIDEO: LAUTECH Student Calls on Seyi Makinde over Incessant Robbers Attack
A n unnamed Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) student in Ogbomoso has cried out to Governor Seyi Makinde over alarming security challenges in the school.
The student who via a TikTok video sends her appeal noted that armed robbery attacks have been constant in the school premises, leaving the entire environment unsafe.
She recounted one of the recent attacks which cost students’ properties while some sustaining ghastly injuries, reflecting the need for dire security emergencies.
Worthy of note, armed robbers have been ranging in students’ Hostels around campus premises in LAUTECH.
Sources told PIJAlance last week that an entire hostel was raided, with phones and laptops carted away. In some other places, students were mercilessly beaten and injured.
Governor Makinde has repeatedly said the security of the state is his priority.
Last month, the Governor noted that one one of the major matters discussed at the State Executive Council was the strategic approach to deploy on the state security challenge.
Notably, Southwest, as a whole is currently experiencing a barrage of security threats. In January, Governors of the region met to discuss the way forward. The outcome of the meeting has yet to be seen, hitherto.
Severally, PIJAlance has reported kidnapping cases in Oyo, Ogun and Ondo.
It is high time the Government looks into it for the safety of citizens.
