The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), for admission seekers into tertiary institutions kicked off nationwide, on Tuesday, with different experiences by candidates, their parents and guardians, who thronged the examination centres, the Vanguard report.
While some candidates were lucky to be posted to centres where things worked relatively well, others had tales of disappointments and frustration to tell.
No fewer than 500 admission seekers taking the examination in Emmanuel Alayande University, Oyo, E-Library were deprived of doing the examination after the computers in the centre suddenly glitched on Tuesday.
PIJAlance learnt that up to 500 candidates couldn’t take the examination as some computers, logged students out of the JAMB examination portal.
Affected candidates taking the examination around 12:00 pm were told by the examiners that the issues will be relayed to the management of JAMB and will be resolved for them.
In response to this, JAMB informed the affected students through an SMS that they should reprint their printout to get a new centre where they’ll be doing their examination.
However, students who have done the reprint complained that nothing changes. “It was the same centre, same time and same date, I was scheduled again for the examination,” Joshua said.
