SUBSIDY: Kwara Rep Gives 3k to 50 people across Constituencies
In what has been silently regarded as a “ridiculous” offer, Hon Ogunniyi Adato, a Kwara House of Representative Member, representing five wards in Ojomu/Balogun Constituency, Offa Local Government Area, has said would pay a monthly “cash stipend” budgeted to be N150k in total to 50 people across the five wards.
The 50 beneficiaries are expected to pocket a sum of N3k each every month as a pallative to cushion the effect of the removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
The disbursement of the said monies started on Sunday, August 6, 2023, a statement made available by Adato Media Team on Monday said.
It partially reads, “to support both of the federal and state governments introduction of multi-sectoral palliative to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal, member representing Ojomu/Balogun at the Kwara State House of Assembly, Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi Adato commenced the distribution of cash stipend for 50 people across the five wards of Ojomu/Balogun constituency on Sunday, 6th of August, 2023.
“Adato says the initiative was his personal effort aimed at supporting the federal and state governments planned programmes and it will be on an ongoing basis with a monthly budget of One Hundred and Fifty Thousand (N150,000) to support various categories of people who will be captured in the constituency Cash Palliative Register
“He stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazak as leaders are committed to easing the pains of the fuel subsidy removal on the people. He further appeal to the people to continue their support for the President and Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazak as they have better plans ahead. He assured them that the current pain is what everyone must go through as a temporary sacrifice that will ultimately pay off.
“Beneficiaries across the five wards were full of praises and commendation for Ogbeni Seun Ogunniyi Adato for his purposeful representation which is what the good people of Ojomu Balogun missed out on during the 9th Assembly. They finally pray for the successful outings of Ogbeni Adato and urge him to continue his good work.”
Efforts to get the recipients of the “monthly payment stipend” were proven abortive as it was rumored that Honourable Ogunniyi Adato only distributed the stipends to the All Progressive Congress (APC) loyalists.
