The Nigerian Senate has confirmed Ambassador Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu, a former Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria, and six other nominees as ministers by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The confirmation came after a rigorous five-hour screening exercise by the Committee of the Whole.
The newly confimed Ministers are: Ambassador Bianca Odinaka Odumegu-Ojukwu, A renowned diplomat and former beauty queen, who previously served as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Ghana and Spain; Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi; Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata; Idi Mukhtar Maiha; Dr. Jumoke Oduwole; and Suwaiba Said Ahmad Ph.D.
The confirmation of these ministers is expected to bring new expertise and leadership to various sectors of the Nigerian government.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu’s appointment, in particular, is notable given her extensive experience in diplomacy and international relations.
