Police Say Killer-Islamic Cleric Who ‘murdered’ final-year student, Belongs to Ritual Killing Syndicate
A police investigation has revealed that 29-year-old cleric Abdulrahman Muhammed Bello, along with four others who allegedly killed Hafsat Lawal, a final-year student at the Kwara State College of Education, are members of a syndicate killing Kwarans for rituals.
Members of the syndicate, according to a police FIR obtained by The Informant247, include: 41-year-old Islamic scholar Ahmed Abulwasiu from Adualere in Ilorin; 28-year-old Neo Life businessperson Sulaiman Muhydeen from Amilegbe in Ilorin; 29-year-old phone repairer Jamiu Uthman from Adualere in Ilorin; and 31-year-old farmer Abdulrahman Jamiu from Elemere, Malete.
A report from the Informant247 says the police said others are still at large belong to “a syndicate that has been killing unsuspecting citizens of Kwara for ritual purposes,” the FIR read in part.
Earlier, PIJAlance reported that a magistrate court sitting in Ilorin had ordered their remand at the Oke-Kura Custodial Centre.
Magistrate Sanusi Muhammad, in his brief ruling, could not take the plea of the defendant due to a lack of jurisdiction to entertain the matter. He ordered that Abdulrahman be kept at Oke-Kura until March 6, 2025.
They were charged with criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, armed robbery, and being in possession of human parts.
The police, in the FIR, said Abdulrahman and the four others belong to the same occult group and confessed to robbing and killing the lady for ritual purposes.
