On Tuesday, Hell was let loose on Warri Sapele road as some Unknown Gunmen who sporadically shot at the moving vehicles mounted road blocs just like that of the policemen at the checkpoint to perpetrate their evil act.

The incident which happened on the evening of Tuesday left the passengers with mixed feelings while they were emotionally disturbed on one side, they were thankful, on the other.

The unknown gunmen were on the road under the pretence of a police checkpoint, our correspondent learnt from one of the victims of the attack.

“We would have been abducted by these unknown gun men if not for the driver who sensed danger and speed off,I don’t even know where we would all be by now, dead or kidnapped,” she stated.

The woman who pleaded anonymity stated that the armed men attacked them with a big touch of light by shining the lights directly on their eyes which made it difficult for the driver to see.

She made it known that the gun spotted in the hands of the attackers before the attack prompted the suspicion that hinted the driver to speed off. Upon doing that, “our vehicle were shot at from behind.

“We have met various police that sets barricades on the road and even some FRSC officers.

“it was these same barricades that the unknown gunmen set on the road, our driver suspected that the guns in their hands is totally big and different from the police’s guns.

“It was at this point they attacked us with a touch light to block our view but the driver find a way to escape and our vehicle was shot,” she said.

Pictures obtained from the source show how bullets penetrated the vehicle.

Also, the victim made it known that some police checkpoints are close to the scene where the attack occurs, while she also expressed displeasure as she have no idea what happened to the vehicles that went before them.

However, she also complained that there are excessive road blocs on the road which make travelling terrible and lead to vulnerability of attack.

The victim, however, called on the federal government to ensure there are other means for the proper identification of policemen at checkpoints as unknown gunmen are imitating the act of setting road barricades with wood and tyres as done by various police officers, FRSC officers and others.
