During an exclusive interview with PIJALANCE, the Proprietress of Treasure Private Academy; an intelligent academic and education juggernaut; Dr. Mrs. Mary Ajadi expressed perpetual concern about the decadence that is eating up the lives of many Nigerian youths. Emphasizing parents’ negligence, poverty, lack of positive orientation and the corrupt Nigeria system as mobilizers of retrogression in education, in Nigeria.
She noted that her passion to be an eminent change agent, especially in educating children, inspired her, her husband; Dr. Toye Ajadi, and Dr. Mrs. Mary Ajadi to birth Treasure Private Academy.
Dr. Ajadi disclosed that discipline and professionalism are the watchwords of their school; Treasure Private Academy. Stating that their teachers are intelligent, professional and trained to effectively communicate and maintain healthy relationships with students, to allow them to adequately impart both knowledge and morals into them.
Adding that introducing the ‘way of God’ to their students at an early age has also proven to be an active way to guide their paths to success.
In a bid to further augment its mission to ameliorate education in Nigeria, Treasure Private Academy, a frontrunner primary and secondary school is on a mission to secure the approval to register students for the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO).
Furthermore, Ajadi explained that Treasure Private Academy has a conducive learning environment that allows effective and efficient understanding and assimilation of what students are being taught.
Recognizing talents and special skills, she affirmed that Treasure Private Academy has sufficient space for sport activities, musical equipment and admirable timeframe for extracurricular activities.
While addressing challenges facing Treasure Private Academy, Ajadi noted that “One of the challenges we face, which I find really disturbing is when we have intelligent students whose parents or guardian are not capable of adequately providing for their educational needs. it truly breaks my heart. However, we have had issues like this, where we take such burden upon ourselves, thereby issue half scholarships and sometimes, full scholarships, where need be.”
Advising students who long for academic growth, Ajadi asserted that “success is sweet, but the secret is sweat”, citing hard work, focus and prayer as the secret to success.
Dr. Mrs Ajadi is a staunch and experienced educator. She is the Proprietress and founder of Treasure Private Academy, Osogbo, Osun state. Ajadi has a B.Tech in Chemistry; MSc in Chemical Pathology and she is also a holder of PhD from a South Africa University.
