In a bid to deepen community participation in his developmental vision for Ogbomoso, the Soun of Ogbomosoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Ghandi Afolabi Olaoye, Orumogege III, will on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, host a town hall meeting with residents of Ogbomoso North Local Government Area.

The event, scheduled to take place at the Anglican Grammar School Hall by 3:00 p.m., marks the second leg of a grassroots consultation drive aimed at harnessing the collective aspirations and inputs of the people into a unified development blueprint tagged the “Greater Ogbomoso Agenda.”

The monarch had earlier met with residents of Ogbomoso South on Thursday, June 12, at the Lagbami Osekun Civic Centre, kicking off a series of town hall engagements across the five local government areas that constitute Ogbomosoland.

According to a statement signed by Peter Olaleye, Special Assistant on Media and Community Relations to the Soun, the meetings are part of efforts to ensure inclusivity in the ongoing 25-year development masterplan introduced by Oba Olaoye.

“The vision is very dear to His Majesty, and he is determined to carry every stakeholder along in order to give the project the necessary push and momentum,” the statement read. “While he has been engaging the elite through various platforms, the Soun believes that everyone has a role to play in shaping the future of Ogbomoso.”

The monarch’s long-term agenda has already begun yielding visible results, and the town hall meetings are expected to further solidify public ownership of the initiative. Residents—both indigenes and non-indigenes—are encouraged to attend, share their ideas, and contribute to building a prosperous Ogbomoso.
