A final year female student of Osun State Polytechnic, (OSPOLY) Iree, has passed away in her sleep.

The student identified as Adufe Kehinde, was until her death an ND II Daily Part Time (DPT) Mass Communication student of the institution.

Kehinde was said to have been currently taking her first semester examination—an examination that will herald second semester for her to completely bag a National Diploma certificate.

A close friend of the deceased who spoke with Campus Journalists on the condition of anonymity, said she had been sick prior and during the time of their examination.

But Kehinde continued to attend the examination hall despite the sickness until the last Saturday when she decided to travel to her hometown for treatment, the friend said.

This was because there was a public holiday, amid the examination period.

However, unknown to Kehinde that the Friday examination would be her last, she had wished her friend, a goodbye.

Getting to her hometown in Ilupeju, Ekiti State, she slept and couldn’t wake up. She had been buried since then.

Currently, students society of the institution and close friends to the deceased have expressed their concerns by taking to their social media profiles, grieving the disheartening death of the student.

“I’m at home, they have buried my friend, her name is Kenny, Adufe, “ one of the grieving close friends said.

“she was sick, she wrote her exam yesterday but later travelled home to receive treatment,” another one said.

“My friend is now dead and buried,” another one wrote.

“She wished me a last goodbye when we saw on Friday”
