Some members of the Nigerian Army at the Engineering Regiment, launched an heinous physical assault on two first-year political science female students of the University of Africa, Bayelsa. One of the soldiers stabbed one in three places and unemotionally beat one other so that blood profusely exists her ears, physical evidence and victims’ confessions confirmed.

In an exclusive report on Arise’s Daybreak News on Wednesday, the two female students identified as Margaret Andy and Sarah said at first, the soldiers physically assaulted them because of not answering to “Kai Kai”— said by the soldiers. But later intentionally stabbed Andy for reporting the incident.
Andy who was terribly stabbed in three separate places is also bedridden while speaking with the Arise News correspondent, saying they were on their way to Campus shop when the soldiers performed the horrendous physical attack on them.

“We were on our way to the Campus shop when we heard Kai, Kai. We didn’t know what it means so we continued on our way until when the soldier came and doublecross us and asked us why we didn’t answer when he was calling us,” Andy said and continued, “I said we didn’t know you’re referring to us by saying Kai and he started beating me. Sarah asked them why they were beating me then, three more of them came and started beating Sarah. They beat her to the point that blood started coming out from her ears. I was beaten and fell down. I rose up then, one of the soldiers came again to drag me down and beat me. He also kicked my stomach.”
After the incident, Andy and Sarah reported back to a lieutenant at the regiment. The lieutenant promised the soldiers would be brought to book. However, the next day witnessed another horrific event that will land Andy in hospital.

“We reported the incident to their regiment and one lieutenant who attended to us said they would be punished. But the next day I saw the soldiers again and they came to me, challenging me that I am the one that has the guts to report them to the lieutenant? He beat me again and the soldier, brought out a knife and stabbed my stomach,” hacked “my hand” and “my leg” chiseled. “He then, ran away,” Andy said.
The Bayelsa Police Command also confirmed the incident and said would launch an investigation into the case.

However, Margaret Andy and Sarah have called on the State and Federal Government to aid them in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
