New York Times Invites Early-Career Journalists for 2026-27 One-Year Fellowship 

One of the leading international media organisations in the United States, the New York Times, is currently accepting applications for its 2026-27 Times Fellowship programme.

With the deadline scheduled to wrap up by Nov. 19, Theodore Kim and Carla Correa noted in their submissions that the submission window for the application this time is relatively short, urging eligible early-career journalists to apply as soon as possible.

The New York Times says the fellowship will be a yearlong opportunity aimed at developing early-career talent in various facets of journalism.

According to the organisers, “Since 2019, more than 200 fellows have published the kind of rigorous and essential journalism that is at the heart of The Times’s newsroom.” will include “

The current application window, which is the newsroom’s eighth cohort, is open to reporters, visual journalists, an audience editor and an A.I. Initiatives fellow. The Election Data Analytics team can also apply.

Successful fellows are expected to secure their work or student visa individually, as the NYT notes, it will not be responsible for visa applications.

Fellows will work full-time, in either the newsroom or the Opinion section. They are paid and receive benefits, and gain access to speakers and a writing coach.
