Peoples Democratic Party in the South-West, on Monday has called on President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) to resign from office due to his inability to find solution to killings and insecurity in the country.
Chief Sanya Atofarati who is the South-West PDP, Publicity Secretary, expressed his sadness on how killers have turned their attention to the military and other security agencies, rendering the citizens helpless, fearful and hopeless.
According to Chief Atofarati, the issues of killings and insecurities is a gross incompetence on the part of the Buhari-led All Progressives Congress Federal Government and he noted that Nigeria has become a graveyard. He then advised the Federal Government to seek foreign help in the interest of peace and development of the country.

He made this known in his statement tagged, ‘Killing spree: Why Buhari must resign now’, which was made available to journalists in the Ekiti State capital Ado-Ekiti in his reactions to recent attacks by bandits and gunmen on military formations as well as police stations and personnel.
Chief Atofarati, explained that between 2015 and 2021 more than 20,000 citizens have been killed as a result of the failure of the government to protect the lives and property of the citizens, ranging from jihadist Fulani herdsmen to Boko Haram to bandits/highway kidnappers.
He further described the APC government as insensitive to the welfare of Nigerians, noting that by now the President, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) should have voluntarily resigned or cry out for help.
The PDP chieftain expressed his shock on how Nigeria has become a country where the agencies in charge of securing the lives and properties of the citizens have suddenly become weak and incapacitated; a country where governors’ convoys are attacked at will, monarchs are kidnapped even under the President’s nose in his home state; a country where there is no war but mass burial weekly!
“It is high time Nigeria sought foreign help to curb insecurity, lest we are all captured.” said Chief Atofarati in his closing remarks.
