Tragedy struck the Nollywood industry again in one week, as a popular movie director, Dimeji Ajibola, the acclaimed Nigerian filmmaker behind the series Shanty Town, has died.
He died today after battling an undisclosed illness, leaving a void in the Nigerian film industry and among his global fans.
His colleague, Samuel Olatunji disclosed this in a message he sent to the Media confirming the news.
Ajibola was celebrated as a creative force and a visionary in the entertainment industry, blending traditional and digital art forms in groundbreaking ways.
His work spanned film, animation, VFX, virtual worlds, and interactive media.
He held a diverse educational background, having studied filmmaking and cinematography at the New York Film Academy in Universal Studios, advanced character animation at Animation Mentor in San Francisco, and visual effects at VFXLearning.
