Drambi Vandi, the Assistant Superintendent of Police said to have killed Omobolanle Raheem, a lawyer, on December 25, faces suspension from the force.
Usman Alkali Baba, Inspector-General of Police, recommended the immediate suspension of Vandi, according to a statement signed by Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the police spokesman, on Wednesday.
The IGP said the call for Vandi’s suspension was in agreement with the internal disciplinary processes of the Nigerian police.
Based on the testimonies of Hareem’s relatives, PIJAlance had reported how Vandi shot and killed the 41-year-old lawyer on her way back from church with her family on Christmas Day.
