How Undergraduate Founder Takes Creative Art by Storm

In our efforts to work towards the creation of a balanced society that gives room for fairness, justice and voice to everyone, ESPECIALLY, the underreported ones; our Team, at PIJAlance met with a phenomenal creative artist who is an undergraduate student of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), yet has many undergraduates learning creative art at his academy.

 

“Can we know you?” Our team had asked. “My name is Ibiloye Adesola Raphael popularly known as Raphimpression. I am a creative artist,” he said opening us to the chapter of his creative world which he has dominated for nearly five years, now.

Speaking to our team with enthusiasm, the young founder said he derives joy in art. While describing art as a “therapy for long life,” said, his motivation was from “Ghetto,” where he was born and grew up so bright watching others painting and casting their dexterous hands on “carve”.

 

The Ghetto-born creative is from Lagos, Nigeria and has engaged in different drawing competitions, local art exhibitions and even currently delving into humane practices, training anyone interested in learning to become a professional in the field of art through his brand Raphimpression Art Academy. The brand was registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2022.

Raphael recognises himself as a startup and as well as not-yet a professional artist despite all his amazing feats in the field of art. With his academy, Raphael has trained over 30 students and still counting with many of them excellently performing in their works.

He was also a National Diploma graduate in Osun State Polytechnic (OSPOLY) and currently an undergraduate of OAU. With this, one could only imagine what he would achieve once he becomes a graduate as a certified creative artist.

 

Adesola Raphael painted the portrait of the current Rector, OSPOLY. Aside, his academy is into different shades of painting like live painting, capturing the motions and the whole ambience, portrait painting, oil painting, face painting among many others.

Raphael, who after founding Raphimpression with numerous hands on canvases, proceeded to impact his talent on others which, led him to breed students from different parts across the country; may be said, is yet another Nigerian artist doing amazing and creative things underreported.

 

PIJAlance is of the view that having a talent show in Nigeria with a stern focus on the display of artistic dexterities by participants in the open just like Nigeria’s Got Talent, Project Fame, Nigeria Idol others do for singers/musicians and dancers could have a creative person like Raphael and his other skilled students obtain an opportunity to gain international recognitions and rewards for their silent skillful works.
