“So the people fighting, they should stop forthwith,” Governor Makinde said. “But if they don’t stop or keep quiet, I, as the executive governor of Oyo State, am going to commit myself to the fight and I would fight to ensure peace, and to ensure progress for Ogbomoso land. By ensuring that, anything government has in power to fight them, I’ll use to fight them.”

Speaking further while calling antagonists to withdraw their court cases, the Governor said, he is not a lawyer to know whether a court order is real or not but the contestation for the throne is over.

“I am not a lawyer to know whether the court order is real or not, so, I wouldn’t know how true is what some people are saying, but this is what I’ll say the contestation for the throne is behind us.

“And I am looking forward to those who are still in the court, withdrawing the court cases by, maybe the end of this week, as a show of love for Ogbomoso land.”

The Governor recalled the story of a city in Oyo State which some antagonists eventually had their king removed through the intervention of the supreme Court after 20 years. He said, “as of today, both the king removed and those that went ahead to give the king, and the people of that community, no one sees any benefits out of it after 20 years. That will not happen in Ogbomoso.”

However, Governor Seyi Makinde called on Oba Ghandi Olaoye as well as other Oyo State traditional rulers for assistance on a new authority in the state.

“I am a believer in constitutional rules for our traditional rulers. And Kabieyesi, there is a new authority in Oyo State, it’s called the Rule of Law Enforcement Authority, it is with the house of assembly and it will soon be passed into law, so, i want your support and other traditional rulers in Oyo State,” Governor Makinde said.

The installation and presentation of certificate and staff of office ceremony saw the gracing of traditional rulers, dignitaries and government officials.
