With its Bard which, gave three pieces of untrue answers, the misrepresentation of Aliko Dangote as the owner of Nigeria and Jack Ma, the owner of China; Google algorithm has also misrepresented an outdated Wikipedia’s page of Ambassador Gabriel Aduda, the Ministry of Petroleum Resources Permanent Secretary as Ministry of Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary, PIJAlance has found.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs Permanent Secretary position is currently empty according to the ministry’s verified website, PIJAlance found.
Social media users have clamped down on Google’s algorithm to have been inaccurately wired to give unverified information but Google has paid no due attention to that.
When Google Bard erred, it was first discovered in a GIF shared by Google showing Bard answering the question: “What new discoveries from the James Webb Space Telescope can I tell my 9 year old about?” Bard offers three bullet points in return, including one that states that the telescope “took the very first pictures of a planet outside of our own solar system.” Reuters had reported these as false answers.
This was followed by a number of astronomers on Twitter who pointed out that this is incorrect and that the first image of an exoplanet was taken in 2004 — as stated here on NASA’s website.
