Anglican Grammar School, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, was thrown into mourning following the tragic murder of its night guard, identified simply as Taiwo.

The 55-year-old, employed by the school’s Parent-Teacher Association, was reportedly stabbed to death by an unidentified Fulani man within the school premises.

According to a report from Ogbomoso Insight Newspaper, the incident occurred when Taiwo discovered the suspect sleeping behind the school hall and instructed him to vacate the premises.

The suspect initially complied but allegedly returned moments later and fatally stabbed the guard with a dagger.

“He found the Fulani man sleeping behind the school hall and asked him to leave,” a source stated. “The suspect pretended to comply but returned to stab him. Taiwo later succumbed to his injuries, dying in a pool of blood.”

A fellow guard, who claimed to have witnessed the attack, alerted security operatives. Law enforcement officers later arrived at the scene and transported the body to a morgue. Taiwo has since been laid to rest by his family.

Authorities at Owode Police Station confirmed the incident. However, as of the time of filing this report, it remains unclear whether any arrests have been made.

When contacted, the school’s principal, Mr. Abiodun Olowe, declined to comment but acknowledged that the incident took place.

Similar occurrences are constant in Ogbomoso and Oyo State in general. Last time it occurred, a farmer’s live was allegedly maimed by some suspected Fulani herders.

When Ogbomoso youth protested, leading to arson of a suspected Fulani camp, the youth were eventually arrested weeks later and whisked to Lagos.
