Fact4U: Android Users Are More Honest Than iPhones Users, New Study Reveals

As per the findings published on Jerry, a smartphone car insurance comparator, Android users are found to be better drivers than iPhone users. They are also more humble than iPhone users.

 

Although, this study was recently conducted in May 2022, similar study has been done four years ago. In 2018, Citinews wrote that “If you have an iPhone, sorry – but you don’t come across too favourably in a study comparing you to Android users as you have lower levels of honesty-humility – a personality measure that includes sincerity, honesty, faithfulness, loyalty and modesty.”

 

More than 500 participants answered questions about themselves and their attitudes to their smartphones for researchers at the University of Lincoln, Lancaster University, and the University of Hertfordshire and the researchers have found that iPhone users are also more likely to see their phone as a status symbol than Android users, have higher levels of emotionality, and are more likely to be extroverted.

 

The study continued that Android users were less interested in wealth and social status and were more honest and agreeable. The study, published in the journal Cyberpsychology, Behaviour, and Social Networking, also found they were less likely than iPhone users to break rules for personal gain.

 

Based on their findings, the researchers designed a computer programme aimed at predicting what smartphone people owned. The programme guessed correctly 70 per cent of the time.

 

 

However, in a recent similar study conducted by Jerry and published on Indiantoday, Android Users have also been found to be better drivers over iPhone phones users. The report said that it had analysed driving behavior of 20,000 drivers collected during 13 million kilometers of driving.

 

The study conducted by Jerry also revealed that the Android users are more open and honest than iPhone users.

 

In the same vein, Ankita Chakravarti wrote that iPhones are preferred by the majority of people, as long as their budget permits. However, some users do not like iPhones as much as others do. They would most happily spend the same amount on a high-end Android phone and probably get more features. That said, which smartphone you use says a lot about you. The latest study has revealed the nature of people who use iPhones and the ones that use Android phones. While iPhone users may not like a lot of things the study reveals about them, Android users have been rated better than iPhone users.
