Fact Check: ASUU Twitter account declaring Indefinite strike fake

The Academic Staff Union of Universities have yet to declared its intension on embarking on an indefinite strike as opposed to claims made by some unverified twitter handles.

Executives of ASUU, including the National President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, had confirmed to The PIJALance Magazine that the union has no Twitter account.

While millions of Nigerian students, parents, and education stakeholders are expecting the outcome of a meeting by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, a Twitter account named ‘ASUU chairman’ declared an indefinite strike.

The PIJAlance note that the account is initial named @comradeait which further laid the proof that the account is breeding falsehoods regarding ASUU strike.

The general populace are advised to disregard all claims coming from this account until ASUU chairman, made known their action through a press conference scheduled to be on Monday (yet confirmed).
