The Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters has received several payments totalling N204,976,316 for just overhead and running cost of the ministry.
According GovSpend, a Budgit sponsored platform that documents Federal Government expenses, the Ministry of Defence got all the payments in one day: 08, Nov 2024.
The payments were as followed: “Defence headquarters (ministry of defence) ₦22,550,000.00—Being payment of october 2024 overhead and running cost for defence headquarters.
“Defence headquarters (ministry of defence) ₦19,670,687.08—Being payment of october 2024 overhead and running cost for defence headquarters.
“Defence headquarters (ministry of defence) ₦6,800,565.00 —Being payment of october 2024 overhead and running cost for defence headquarters.
“Defence headquarters (ministry of defence) ₦53,827,350.00—Being payment of october 2024 overhead and running cost for defence headquarters.
“Defence headquarters (ministry of defence) ₦14,926,962.00—Being payment of october 2024 overhead and running cost for defence headquarters.
“Defence headquarters (ministry of defence) ₦21,501,100.00—Being payment of october 2024 overhead and running cost for defence headquarters.
“Defence headquarters (ministry of defence) ₦20,817,996.00—Being payment of october 2024 overhead and running cost for defence headquarters.
“Defence headquarters (ministry of defence) ₦24,450,000.00—Being payment of october 2024 overhead and running cost for defence headquarters.
“Defence headquarters (ministry of defence) ₦20,431,056.00—Being payment of october 2024 overhead and running cost for defence headquarters.”
Worthy of note, Procurement Law (2007) frown at such splitting payments. It is what it described as means to avoid “monetary threshold.”
