
BREAKING: NYSC Declares Two Officials Missing
Two officials of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) have been declared missing by the scheme.
The scheme declared them missing on Friday through its X (formerly Twitter) handle, saying they were last heard of since July 29, 2024.
The duo, Mr Okun Christopher, who is the NYSC Akwa-Ibom State Coordinator, and his driver, Mr Daniel Effiong Asibong, were plying Onitsha and Owerri roads while in transit to Uyo.

They were on an official white Hilux vehicle with registration number 27D31FG when they were last heard of, the management said.
The scheme also enjoined the general public and the security agencies to assist in the search and rescue mission for its officials.
“The Management of National Youth Service Corps is appealing to the security agencies in Anambra and Imo States as well as the two State Governments to do everything possible to secure the release of two NYSC officials who went missing on Monday, July 29, 2024.
“The duo got missing between Onitsha and Owerri road while in transit to Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State.
“The NYSC Akwa-Ibom State Coordinator, Mr Okun Christopher and his driver, Mr Daniel Effiong Asibong were travelling in a white official Hilux vehicle with registration number 27D31FG when they were last heard of.
“The Scheme also enjoin all well-meaning individuals from both States to assist the security agencies in the search and rescue efforts of the missing NYSC Officials.
“Anyone with useful information regarding their whereabouts should contact the law enforcement agents in Anambra and Imo States, any of the 37 NYSC State Secretariats/Area Offices and National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja or the nearest police station for immediate action.”
