Breaking: Lautech Appoints Prof Gbemiga as Ag Provost of Igboora Campus

Former Rector, Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology at Igboora, Professor Jacob Gbemiga Adewale, has been named the Ag. Provost of the newly created College of Agricultural Sciences and Renewable Natural Resources, a Campus of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso.
Ag. Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Mojeed Olaide Liasu, in the same vein also announced Professor Lateef Oyewole Alamu of the Department of Crop and Environmental Protection in the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, as the Ag. Dean of the Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources.
Their appointments which take immediate effect followed due nomination.
Jacob Gbemiga Adewale was born exactly 58 years ago on 2nd May, 1961 into the family of PA and Mama Joseph Adeleke Adewale of Lagunna Obepi in Oluyole Local Government area of Oyo State.
The journey of a thousand mile, they say begin with a step, Prof. Adewale as a promising young man excelled in the West African School certificate Examination in 1980 and was awarded the second best candidate at the School Certificate Examination, thereby displaying excellence at his early stage of life.
The young Gbemiga Adewale proceeded to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he bagged, Bachelor of Agriculture in Agricultural Extension in 1985. He later secured admission into the Premier University of Ibadan and obtained his Master’s Degree in 1994, subsequently he obtained PhD in Agricultural Extension and Rural Development in 1999 at the same University of Ibadan.
Prof. Gbemiga Adewale started his career in 1988 as a teacher at the Training School of Agriculture, under the Sokoto Agricultural and Rural Development Authority, Sokoto State by participated in the mandatory National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) Scheme. Upon the completion of the NYSC programme, he joined the Agricultural Credit Corporation of Oyo State between 1989 and 1994 where he worked as an Agricultural officer.
As an Agriculturist who distinguished himself and was passionate about imparting the younger generation, Professor Adewale joined the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso in 1994 as an Assistant Lecturer where he rose to become a Professor in the Department of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development in October, 2007.
At the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Prof. Adewale served in various capacities and his meritorious service raised him to this new post.
