Abia State Task Force Warns Against Assaults, Vows Prosecution
The Abia State Harmonized Task Force (ASHTF) has sounded the alarm over recent attacks on its members and destruction of its vehicles by touts and lawbreakers in the state.
The ASHTF Chairman, Uzor Nwachukwu, who also serves as Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, expressed concern and warned that those responsible will face severe consequences.
According to Nwachukwu, ASHTF personnel have been facing unjustified threats from touts and lawbreakers while carrying out their duties.
In response, the task force has declared that it will take decisive action against perpetrators, with no room for compromise. Those found guilty of assaulting ASHTF members or damaging task force properties and vehicles will face full legal prosecution, without the option of a fine.
The ASHTF’s stance is aimed at ensuring the safety and security of its personnel and protecting its properties. By taking a firm stance against assaults and vandalism, the task force seeks to maintain law and order in the state.
In furtherance, this development comes amidst efforts by the Abia State Government to enhance security and governance in the region. Governor Alex Otti has been working to promote transparency, growth, and prosperity in the state.
