34 Lawyers have shown interest to defend the suspected killers of Deborah Emmanuel in a Magistrate Court on Monday.
Recalled a Female Christian Student of Shehu Shagari College of Education, Deborah Emmanuel (earlier called, Deborah Samuel, Yakubu Deborah) had been premeditatedly murdered by mob for blasphemy in Sokoto.

Reacting to the incident, Sokoto Police Command had arrested two suspects in connection to the murder and have them arraigned in court.
With respect to this, 34 lawyers appeared in a Magistrate Court to defend the suspects.
The suspects, who were also students of Shehu Shagari College of Education, had pleaded not guilty.

Although the suspects have pleaded not guilty, the Police lawyer Khalil Musa has told the court that investigation is still going on.
Musa said, the command can reveal more charges when they are through with the investigation.

Mansur Ibrahim, who led the 34 lawyers that want to defend the suspects said court should release the suspects on liberal terms.
However, after court presentation, the has court adjourned the case to another date for ruling on the bail application that they will communicate to the lawyers.
The Chief Magistrate subsequently order to remand the suspects in prison.
