At Kastina Ala Local Government Area, in Benue State, people’s residences have been occupied and dominated by domestic animals, five days to the bloody attack on some communities.

Recall that the Chairman of Katsina Ala, Alfred Atera, had said over 100 people were killed in an attack on four wards of the council.

He identified Yoyo, Utange, Mbatyu/Mberev and Mbayongo as the wards attacked by the suspected herdsmen.

But contrasting to the Atera’s claim, both Military and Police denied the attack.

However, giving an update on the attack on Wednesday, Atera said he visited Utange on Tuesday, adding that the community was deserted and were occupied only by domestic animals.

He said, thousands of people have vacated their ancestral homes claiming that the Fulani herders are inside the bush and chasing them tirelessly.

“People are in their thousands in Abaji, Tor Donga and other communities close to the major roads for the fear of Fulani herders to not attack them again.”
