25-year-old Rapes 12-year-old, Family Beats Up Brother, Says ‘It is Boyfriend-Girlfriend Issue’
Farouk, a 25-year-old Grandma son, popularly known as Lumi, has been alleged to have forcefully raped a 12-year-old neighbour in Lagos.
The disturbing case which unfolds on May 9, 2025, caught the 12-year-old unawares at Oguntaiwo Street Anisere Ayobo Ipaja, Lagos State.
A brother to the victim who goes by the name, @Ifeanyidozie10 on X told PIJAlance the victim was sent to buy a sachet water, fondly called “pure water” from Grandma when the incident occurred.
The Grandma who sells provisions, told the victim to help her sell a soft drink to one of her customers. The victim entered the shop, opened the deepfreeze to pick the beverage but discovered that it was not cold.
Then, “Farouk walked in,” the aggrieved brother said. “He told her to come and take the cold drink from his apartment to give to Grandma’s customer.” The 12-year-old did as Farouk suggested. But Farouk followed her, covered her mouth and “forcefully slept with her,” in his apartment.
After carrying out his heinous act, he “gave her his sweatshirt to cover herself and sent her home,” the brother of the victim told PIJAlance.
Ifeanyi said the victim began to bleed profusely. Adding that “she couldn’t even stand on her feet, crying that her stomach is hurting her.” The brother posted some of the explicit pictures of the bleeding incident as proofs on his X handle. PIJAlance reviews all of them but cannot add to this story because of its extreme obscenity.
Despite this, Ifeanyi confronted Farouk but the family arranged “boys” to beat him up, claiming it was a “Boyfriend-Girlfriend issue.”
“The family gathered boys beat me up and my younger brother claiming it’s a boyfriend-girlfriend issue,” Ifeanyi said. “They even threatened us until yesterday morning they came to Igando Hospital begging to settle it.”
The victim was first rejected at Igbogila Hospital the aggrieved family rushed her to. It took the effort and the presence of police officers before she was admitted at Igando General Hospital. “But now she is getting better, though the Doctor said she cannot be discharged yet,” Ifeanyi added.
Farouk has since been arrested and detained at Ayobo Police Station. The command has also held onto the “sweatshirt” given to the victim by Farouk.
