2023 Polls: INEC Suspends Election In Enugu East
The Independent National Electoral Commission has suspended 2023 election in Enugu East Senatorial District over the killing of the Labour Party candidate.
The commission disclosed this through its verified Facebook handle on Saturday while adding that the election will be held on March 11, 2023.
Prof Mahmood Yakubu also added that election will take place by 8:30am and ends by 2:30pm.
“At the 2nd briefing on INEC’s preparedness for the 2023 polls held at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja on 24th Feb, Hon Chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu said:
“Voting begins at 8.30am, ends at 2.30pm. All voters on queue before 2pm can vote.
“On his part, IGP Usman Baba pledges adequate security nationwide.
“INEC suspends election in Enugu East Senatorial District, made up of 6 LGAs and 1630 PUs, following the death of Labour Party’s Candidate. The election will now hold on 11th March 2023.”
