In a bid to support education and nutrition in underserved communities, the Lagos Food Bank Initiative (LFBI) has partnered with Itel to distribute food items and educational materials to 1,000 students across five schools in Okoagbon community, Makoko, Lagos.
Programme Officer, Mopelola Oladapo, emphasized that the initiative is important as it helps in reducing out-of-school children and increasing enrollment rates, which would run every Tuesday and Thursday.
Dolapo Olorunnimbe, ATL Marketing Manager, Itel Mobile, noted that the firm has conducted similar projects nationwide over five years.
Furthermore, the initiative also comes as a way of commemorating World Food Bank Day, which school bags, reading materials, and food to students were distributed.
The Edufood Programme is an initiative of LFBI, aims to provide nutritious meals to students in disadvantaged communities, promoting school attendance and academic performance.
