10 Killed, 7 Injured After Building Collapse in Ibadan

A devastating building collapse has occurred in Ibadan, Oyo State, resulting in the loss of 10 lives and injuring 7 others. 

 

The incident happened at 2 am on Thursday in the Jegeda Oluloyo area of Ona Ara Local Government.

 

According to the General Manager Yemi Akinyinka, “the Oyo State Fire Services Agency received a distress call at 2 am and promptly responded to the scene.”

 

The GM confirmed that 10 people died instantly, while 3 were recovered before their arrival, and 4 more were rescued by their team, as rescue operations are ongoing.

 

 

“This tragic event highlights the need for improved building safety standards and emergency response measures. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the victims,” she said.
